22nd Annual Harvest Moon Regatta
Presented by Bay Access, Inc., the Harvest Moon Regatta is the largest port to port race in North America. It will begin mid afternoon on Thurs., Oct. 16, from the Flagship Hotel pier in the Gulf of Mexico, travel south 150 nautical miles and will end at the sleepy, little fishing village of Port Aransas. Over 225 boats from all over the Gulf Coast are expected to participate this year.
Boaters are welcomed in Port Aransas with a Sailors Rum Party sponsored by Bacardi USA on Sat., Oct. 18, in the City Pavilion. After a bar-b-que dinner, the Awards Ceremony takes place with approximately 2,000 in attendance. All racers anticipate the winner of the coveted “Bacardi Cup” which is awarded to the fastest racer in the most competitive class. A Jimmy Buffett-style band rounds out the evening’s entertainment.
